Do you know that the Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS) is changing?

You may feel that you are too young to think about your future, but are you aware of the tax efficient savings options available to you as a member of the LGPS?

It was recently announced that detailed negotiations will take place as a result of the proposed changes being agreed with Trade Unions and Department for Communities and Local Government (DCLG); further information will be made available on the Fund’s website.

However, the LGPS will still remain as one of the best schemes in the country. It should be seen as a valuable part of your employment package as your employer fund’s two thirds of the cost towards your future.

By being a member, you automatically qualify for death in service cover of three times your pay and there are also guaranteed family benefits payable in the event of your death.
