Leave of absence
There may be occasions when you are away from work and you don't pay your local government pension scheme contributions. For example, you could have:
• a period of unpaid sick leave
• an authorised leave of absence (approved by your employer)
• days where you take industrial action (strike)
• a period of Reserve Forces leave
• a period of Maternity, Paternity or Adoption leave
